Donald Grey Wallace, age 61, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. Mr. Wallace was a 1969 graduate of Clintwood High School and attended Clinch Valley College. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his father, Otis Wallace; paternal grandparents, Eli and Mattie Wallace; maternal grandparents, Kenos Sluss and Maggie McFall; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors are his mother, Lavada Wallace of Clintwood; three brothers, Bryan Wallace and wife Renita, Barry Wallace and wife Ligeia and Steve Wallace all of Clintwood; two sisters, Rebecca Elliott and husband William Elliott, III of Sarasota, Florida, Jequita Ratliff and husband Dereck of Clintwood; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A military graveside service will be conducted by Pound VFW, Post 9600 and officiated by Shirley Mullins on Sunday, July l, 2012, 7:30 p.m. in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood.
