Donald Scott (Scotty) McKenzie, 45, died at Dickenson Community Hospital on Sunday, December 31, 2006. He was born in Dickenson County, the son of Don and Lois Blankenship McKenzie. His mother Lois, preceded him in death. Survivors other than his father are a son, Shawn Mullins, Kingsport; a brother, Bradley McKenzie, Glennville, WV; a grandson, Austin Mullins; a special friend Janine Senter, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Funeral services for Donald Scott (Scotty) McKenzie will be conducted 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with ministes Lynn Vanover and Chris Shortt officiating. Additional services will be conducted at the graveside in the Yates Cemetery, Caney Ridge at 1:00 PM Thursday. The family will receive friends at the Clintwood Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday until the time of service. Pallbearers will be friends. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the funeral home on behalf of the family. Those wishing to go in the procession to the cemetery should be at the funeral home no later than 12:30 PM Thursday.
