Obituary

Dona Mae Rose, age 95, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Rose was born in Eidson Tennessee. She lived most of her life in the Honey Camp section of Dickenson County. She was a kind and virtuous woman who loved everybody. She was a member of the Honey Camp Freewill Baptist Church for many years and a faithful worshipper. Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Rose; parents, George P. and Laura J. Johnson Horton; son, Gerald Rose and his wife, Nancy; three brothers, Ballard Horton, Glenn Horton, Oscar Horton ; two sisters, Oma Rose and Marie Hale; two grandchildren, Christopher Watkins and Michelle Rose. Survivors include one son Wendell Rose and wife Evelyn Sue of Dumfries, Virginia; three daughters, Mary Watkins of Salyersville, Kentucky, Rita Jordan and husband Roy of Millboro, Virginia and Aleta Moore and husband Everett of Clintwood; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister-in-law, Arbutus Horton, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Honey Camp Freewill Baptist Church with Eddie Rose, grandson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and other family members. Family will receive friends at the church, Tuesday, May 29 at 6:00pm, where a song service will begin at 7:00pm.
