Donald Edward McKenzie, 76, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Norton Community Hospital. He was a graduate of Clintwood High School and retired from Clinchfield Coal Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Etta Yates McKenzie; son, Scotty McKenzie, sisters, Edna Minor, Jean Mooney, and Hazel Buchanan; brothers, Carol and Ray McKenzie, Billy Fleming, and Raymond Fleming. Survivors include his son, Bradley McKenzie of New Jersey; brother, Earl McKenzie and Wife Zelma of Coeburn, VA; sister, Carolyn Chaoon and husband Jim of Powhatan, VA. Funeral services for Donald Edward McKenzie will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Vanover officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM until time of service. Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2015 In Yates Cemetery Caney Ridge section. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron Mooney, and Jimmy B. Willis. Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery can meet at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Clintwood Funeral Home.
