Obituary

Deloris Joan Robinson Mullins,"Nanny", passed away Saturday March 21st 2026, leaving
behind a legacy of unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends. Joan was born on
June 8th, 1937, in Pound, Virginia, to Everett and Leota Cantrell. From the very beginning, she
carried a gentle spirit and a generous heart that would go on to touch the lives of all who knew
her.  Joan married Wesley Robinson in 1955, celebrating 50 years with each other. Together they built
a life centered on love and family. She was a proud and devoted mother to her five children, and
all of her grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her family was her greatest joy;
she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.  Nanny found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She spent countless hours crocheting and quilting, creating pieces that will forever serve as reminders of her care and creativity. She loved
tending her garden, fishing, attending church, sharing laughter and stories with her friends at the
senior center, she especially loved every moment spent with her family. One of her favorite
family traditions was gathering with loved ones at the Robinson Family Shed–moments filled
with food, laughter, and companionship.  Joan had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. She delighted in a good
joke, enjoyed searching for the best deals at stores, writing poetry, and never missed an
opportunity to connect with her friends and family. Her love was truly one of a kind, and the joy
she brought to those around her is something that words cannot capture.
To know Joan was to love her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of
all who were blessed to call her Nanny.
