David G. Vanover, age 56, passed away August 16th, 2010 in Bristol, Virginia. He was the son of the late Grayson and Maggie Mooney Vanover. Mr. Vanover graduated from Clintwood High School in 1972 and was a graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. He had been the owner and Funeral Director of Clintwood-Colley Funeral Home since 1981. Mr. Vanover was a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church, Clintwood, Virginia and had been attending Victory Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia. David was a friend to many, too many to mention. Since February 2010 he had lived in Bristol with his brother and caregiver Roger Vanover and wife Juanita. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Vanover. Mr. Vanover is survived by two brothers, Roger Vanover and wife Juanita of Bristol, Virginia and James E. Vanover of Clintwood, Virginia. Other survivors include: one nephew, Josh Vanover of Charleston, South Carolina, one uncle, Amos Mooney of Louisville, Kentucky, three aunts, Ruth Lilly of Clintwood, Virginia, June Lilly of Cleveland, Ohio, Agnes Forish of Manassas, Virginia and a host of other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 18th at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, August 19th , 11:00 AM at Temple Hill Memorial Gardens, Castlewood, Virginia. Pastor Lynn Vanover, Pastor Austin Cook and Pastor Willie Stanley will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Valley View Baptist Church, PO Box 594, Clintwood, Virginia.
