David Paul McPeek, Jr. age 66, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. McPeek was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a 1976 graduate of Clintwood High School. He was a retired Correctional Officer from the Red Onion State Prison.   Mr. McPeek attended Flemingtown Freewill Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. McPeek was preceded in death by his parents, David and Shirley McPeek, Sr.; son, David Jessee McPeek; infant sister, Sheena McPeek; in-laws, Albert and Hazel Mullins.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Mullins McPeek of Clintwood; son, Albert McPeek and wife Heather of Clintwood; daughter, Catherine Edwards and husband Philip of Clintwood; brother, Chad McPeek and wife Pam of Clintwood; grandchildren, Mason, Trenton, MaKayla, Paisley, Braxton and Jaxson; great granddaughter, Layton.

A song service will be held Monday, February 3rd, 7 pm at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 6 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 4th, 12 Noon, at the funeral home, with Pastor Lester Mullins Officiating. Burial will follow at Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Paisley, Jaxson and Braxton McPeek.
