David Wayne Hawkins age 82, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Hawkins was a lifelong resident of Clintwood and a member of Pound River Church for many years. He worked at Heritage Hall in Clintwood for many years and was currently employed by Clintwood Post Office. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and LouCienda Hawkins; brothers, Tooney and Harry Hawkins; sisters, Garnett Blansett and Jean Mullins; granddaughter, Brooke Woods; special friend, Palmer Woods.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Tincy Hawkins of Clintwood; daughters, Missy Woods and husband Keith, Angie Stallard and husband Russell all of Haysi; grandchildren, Keilah Woods and husband Matthew, Dalton Woods and wife Kaylee and Olivia Stallard; great grandchildren, Bentley Carter Woods and Colsen Blake Woods; special nephew, Mickey Blansett; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and his church family at Pound River Church.

Funeral will be held Sunday, June 23rd, 11 am at Pound River Church with Pastor Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Claude A, Mullins Cemetery, Dwale Lane, Clintwood. Pallbearers are Thomas Younce, John Blansett, Steve Blansett, Elias Rose, Tom Kilgore and Chris Edwards.
