Darrell Hill age 88, passed away Sunday, July 26 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee, with his loving family by his side. He was a lifelong resident of Hill Ridge and a member of Hill Ridge Church. Mr. Hill was the son of the late Lee and Gusta Hill. He was a retired UMWA coal miner, having worked in the mines for 40 years. Mr. Hill was last employed by Laurel Mountain Mine. He enjoyed family get togethers, gardening and mowing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his grandson, Phillip Mullins; brothers, Ray, Ralph, Herman and Harold Hill; sisters, Maggie Hill, Pauline Jackson, Merrell French and Lillian Fleming.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy of Clintwood; son, Jim Hill and Dorothy of Lebanon, Virginia; daughter, Darlene Mullins and Teddy of Clintwood; granddaughters, Elissa Mullins and Lynsey Lloyd, brother, Carroll Hill and Betty of Haysi.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 30th, at 7 pm at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel, with Keith Dotson officiating. Visitation will begin at 5 pm until service.

Family and friends are requested to meet at Clintwood Funeral Home on Friday, July 31st at 10:30 am to proceed to Hill Ridge Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at 11 am.
