Danny Harold Stanley, age 73, of The Plains, Virginia passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023. Danny was born on June 15, 1949 in Clintwood, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Oma Stanley; brothers Cecil, Joe, and Jimmy and sister Josephine; nephews Joseph, Philip, Johnny, and Michael; and niece Sandy.

Danny moved to northern Virginia as a young adult and became a steel worker who worked on the construction of the Chesapeake Bay bridge. He later became an independent contractor, working as a carpenter and builder for over 20 years. He loved fishing and hunting and even helped build a sailboat which he sailed up the east coast with his nephew.

Danny is survived by his loving and caring partner Dresden Farmer and her son Michael Stanley (Tiffany); brothers Edmon Stanley and Jerry Stanley (Linda) sister, Rosie Belcher; nieces  Onedah, Roxanna, Joanna, Pamela, Tammy,  Sheila, and Chrissy ; and nephews Christopher, John, Farrell, Anthony, Mark, Ricky, Jerry, Jimmy Dean, and Timmy.

The funeral service will be held outdoors on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11 am, at the Alvin Stanley Family Cemetery, 402 A J Stanley Road, Clintwood, VA 24228, with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating.
