Dana Vern "Whicker Bill" Witt, age 73, died at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA on Monday, January 29, 2007 after a brief illness. He was born in Kentucky, the son of Elmer and Irene Dotson-Davis Witt and lived his adult life in Dickenson County where he was a self employed truck driver. His parents, a son Dana Kern Witt, and a brother Luther Beverly preceded him in death. He was a member of the Shepherd Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife, Mary Ann Witt, Clintwood; three sons, Shannon Lee Witt and wife Christinia, Clinchco, Roger Wayne Witt and wife Tiffanie, Hopkinsville, KY, and Elmer David Witt, Norton, VA; two daughters, Angela Marie Beamer and husband Jacob, Hillsville, VA, Gloria Dawn Witt-Howard and husband Robert, McClure; two sisters Donna Dotson and husband Roger, Bristol, VA, Patty Dotson and husband Palmer, Abingdon; grandchildren Camilla Dawn Rose Witt, Skylar Ann Gene Howard, Austin Blake Beamer, Trinity Shea Witt, Anita Irene McCoy, Nathan Kern Witt, Eva Marie Witt, Lacy Gaye Witt, and Christopher David Witt, and baby Witt; great grandchildren, Keiton Gunner McCoy, Kyler Grayson McCoy, Dana Camden McCoy, several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
