Columbus Counts, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015. He was born August 28, 1939 to Victor and Mecy Anderson Counts. He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, an avid outdoorsman, had a love for gardening, and was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Wicky Counts; and one sister, Janice Counts Robbins. He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Carico and husband Jeff of Clintwood, VA; four sisters, Margie Counts of Clintwood, VA; Shirley Bragg and husband Jerry of Somerset KY; Phyllis Vanover and husband Harold of Pennington Gap, VA; and Eulala Vanover and Donald Elam of Abingdon, VA. cousin, Gary Counts; brother in law, Charles Robbins; three grandchildren, Joshua Strouth and wife Kelia, Christopher Strouth, Gregory Strouth, and special grandchild, Brooke Fleming. Several nieces nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Columbus Counts will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Webb Officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM Thursday until time of service. Graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, November 13, 2015 in the Sowards Cemetery Flemingtown. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
