Obituary

Huron, Ohio  Clynis H. Stallard, 89 of Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 27, 2015, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 24, 1926 in Leck, Virginia and was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Army Infantry, during the Battle of the Bulge.After being discharged from the service he returned to Virginia and purchased a truck and began hauling coal for many years. He operated a bulldozer at a strip mine for The Coal Company. He later moved to Ohio and began working for Burkhardt Construction installing pipe lines. Clynis finished his career as a kiln operator for the Huron Lime Plant, working there for over 25 years, retiring in 2002 at 76 years old. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church, Norwalk, and the N.R.A. Clynis was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He lived his Christisn life by example always giving and helping his family and friends and anyone in need! He was always the neighborhood mechanic and loved telling stories. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children; Brenda (Thornton) Brown and Molly (Brad) Hayes, both of Norwalk, Sheila Franklin, and Steven (Kathy) Stallard, both of Huron, and Rebecca (Michael) Simpson, San Diego, CA; four grandchildren and five step grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Diana (Danny) Coulthard, N. Tazwell, VA; brothers, James "Bernis" Stallard, Dandridge, TN, and Joseph Randall (Peggy) Stallard, Fredericksburg, VA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances in 2003; parents, Voda and Bessie (Kaiser) Stallard; step mother, Opal; grandson, Joshua Payne; brother, Verlin Stallard; and sister, Nyella White. Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, from 6-8 P.M. in Crossroads Community Church, 414 Gibbs Rd., Norwalk. Friends may also call on Wednesday from Noon until time of funeral services at 2 P.M. in the church. Pastor Molly Stallard Hayes, daughter will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or to Crossroads Community Church.
