Clyde Lee Mooney, age 59, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Mountain View Medical Center, Norton, Virginia. Mr. Mooney was a 1972 graduate of Clintwood High School and former owner of Pot Luck Trucking. He enjoyed hunting, farming, fishing, camping and being a grandfather. Mr. Mooney was preceded in death by his parents, Tolby and Nell Artrip Mooney and his former wife Darlene Garrett. Survivors include his daughter, Brandy Taylor and husband Jason, grandchildren Emma and Ryder Taylor all of Clintwood; two brothers, Edmund "Pee Wee" Mooney and wife Paula of Mebane, North Carolina and Larry Mooney of Clintwood; two sisters, Patsy Priddy and husband Billy of Montpellier, Virginia and Joann Williams and husband Charlie of Roanoke, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, December 26th, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until time of service. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 pm on Friday, December 27th, to proceed to Phipps Memorial Cemetery for graveside services. Pallbearers will be Larry Rowe, J. R. Rowe, Bill Lacy Stanley, Clyde A. Mullins, Norman Ratliffe and Jason Taylor.
