Clyde Edward Davis, age 89, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday January 12, 2022. Clyde was born the son of Eura Davis Dixon and William Walter Davis on March 14,1932. He married Bobbie Sue Cassidy on May 25, 1957 beside the road on Jenkins Mountain. They enjoyed a great marriage of 57 years until Bobbie Sue passed away at home. Clyde was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Clyde cared for his three grandchildren as if they were his own children.  He loved them all very much.

Clyde is survived by his daughter Linda Sue Davis Calhoun and husband Randy Calhoun; three grandchildren April Webb and husband Anthony, D. Andrew Stanley and his wife Sarah, Selinda A. Robinson and husband Daniel; seven great-grandchildren Bailey Webb, Austin Webb, Hannah Webb, Eleanor Robinson, Clara Robinson, Alan Stanley and Simon Stanley. He was preceded in death by brothers Bill Davis, Clifford Davis, Herman Davis and Jess Davis as well as his sisters Agnes Fleming and Lila Mullins, also, his step-father, J.C. Dixon.

Clyde worked in the coal mines for many years to support his family.  He retired and spent the rest of his years playing his banjo, restoring cars and raising a garden. The world lost a great man when Clyde passed away.  He will be missed by all.

Funeral Services for Clyde E. Davis will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday, Jan 19, 2022 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Carter and Lewis Mullins officiating. Visitation will begin at Noon. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery, Coeburn, VA. Pallbearers will be Daniel Robinson, Selinda Robinson, Andrew Stanley, April Webb and Anthony Webb.  Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Stanley and Simon Stanley
