Clircie Helen Perry was born January 20, 1928, to Carton and Julia Fleming. God blessed her to stay on this earth 89 years, though the last 10 were not easy for her as Alzheimer's began to take over her body.

In 1944, she married Elmer Frank Perry. From their union was born one son, Lowell Edmond Perry, in 1945.  She was a devoted, hardworking wife and mother who raised her son and cared for her paraplegic husband for 23 years after his mining accident.  Helen loved her family and church family at Clintwood Church of Christ.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her mother and father, Carton and Julia Fleming; one brother, Ray Fleming; four sisters, Thelma Mullins, Dollie Davis, Goldie Perry and Della Meade. She was the last survivor of her family.

She is survived by her son, Lowell Perry and wife Glenda of Clintwood; 2 grandchildren, Michael (Candy) Perry of Orange, Virginia and Teresa (Keith) Cook of Clintwood; 5 great grandchildren, Chelsea Perry of Clintwood, Dylan (Brandi) Perry of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Austin Cook, Mikayla Cook and Brookelyn Cook all of Clintwood; 2 great-great grandchildren, Jase Flint and Gabriella Perry; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 13th from 6 to 8 PM in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday, September 14th  beginning at 11:00 AM with Shirley Mullins and Gary Mullins officiating.  Burial will follow at the Perry Family Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Michael Perry, Austin Cook, Keith Cook, Billy Ray Davis, Dylan Perry, Donald Davis, Phillip McFall, and Chris McFall.  Honorary pallbearers Gary Dingus, Charlie Perry, Donald Perry, Randall Phipps and Creek Carlton.
