Obituary

Cicero McKinney, age 62, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood. Mr. McKinney was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, a retired coal miner and a member of the Ramsey Ridge Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his parents, Vester and Lura McKinney, his brother, Paul McKinney and a sister, Itha McKinney. Survivors include his wife, Judy McKinney of Clinchco; two sons, Walter McKinney and wife Loretta and Kody Ryan McKinney all of Clinchco; one daughter, Amber McKinney of Clinchco; three brothers, Waitsel McKinney and wife Evelyn of Nora, Vester McKinney, Jr. and wife Emma of Clintwood and Jason McKinney and wife Barbara of Clinchco;one sister, Alice Belcher and husband Paul of Kingsport, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Walter S. McKinney, Rita McKinney, Kayte B. Counts, Shay R. Counts, Debra Mickles, Billy Mickles, Ronald Mickles and several special grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2014, 1:00 pm at the Buffalo Church with James Moore and Bill Knoskie officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Family Cemetery, Nora. Pallbearers will be Scott McKinney, Kody McKinney, Billy Mickles, Ronald Mickles, Larry Damron and Michael Shields. Family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12 Noon until time of service.
