Charlie Herbert Keith age 89, known to many as Uncle Chuck and Chuckie Baby, passed away peacefully at his home on Caney Ridge Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He was born May 25, 1929 to Rufus and Maxie Dotson Keith. On January 19, 1950 he married Frankie Belle Hutchinson and together they had 5 children. Mr. Keith was of the Baptist faith and attended Rachels Chapel Church. He loved gardening, farming and his family.
Mr. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Maxie Keith; 2 brothers, Arthur Quentin Keith and Harold R. Keith; his sister, Mary Jean Compton; granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Keith and great granddaughter, Haley Rose Salyer.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Frankie Keith, who was by his side until the end; 4 daughters, Ann Slemp and husband Tom of Coeburn, Carol Keith of Coeburn, Colleen Stanley and husband Wayne of Abingdon, Virginia and Debbie Turner of St. Paul, Virginia; his son Kester Keith and wife Diane of Coeburn; 1 brother, Alger (Super) Keith of Cleveland, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 5 th, in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 5 PM with a song service to follow at 7 PM. Funeral services will be conducted by Willie Stanley, Tom Slemp, and Wayne Keith on Sunday, January 6 th, 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Dotson Cemetery on Rachels Chapel Road. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and sons-in-law as honorary pallbearers.
