Obituary

Charles H. Williams age 76, passed away peaceful Monday July 20, 2026, at his home with his loving family by his side. Charlie was at his family home, where he was born in Clinchco, with brother-in-law Dean Rasnick. Charlie was better known as "Forked Deer". He was the son of the late Doris James and Reba June Williams.  He was a retired truck driver, after many years of trucking from coal to motor freight he had worked as coal miner as well. Charlie loved the outdoors, camping, gardening, fishing and time with family and pets. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, sleep on our dear friend and loved one until we meet again on some wonderful day on that beautiful shore on high.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Travis Williams, one brother Benny Williams, four sister Deloris Greer, Reba Teters, Lois Edwards and Elizabeth Rasnick, nephew Kelly Greer, in laws Charlie Greer and James Teters.

He is survived by his loving wife Jo Ann Williams, Clinchco, VA., a son Adam Woods, one grandson Aaron Robinson, Castlewood., a brother James E. Williams and wife Deanna, Palmyra, PA. a special brother-in-law Dean Rasnick, Clinchco, VA. along with nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends, special thanks to Dean Rasnick, J.R. Robinson, Roy Punk McMillan, Donavon Mullins and Donna Childress for all their kindness, help and support during his sickness, special thanks to Angel Care Hospice staff.

Funeral services for Charles H. Williams will be conducted 3 PM Wednesday July 22, 2026, Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be Benson Williams, Jason Williams, James Williams, Dean Rasnick, J.R. Robinson and Donavon Mullins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodney Adkins, Daniel Oquinn, Wayne Collius, Roy McMillan, Jessie Crechfield and Caleb Wise. The family will receive friends from 2 PM till service time. Singing for service will be Andy and Vicky Silcox.
