Carmella Pizzuto Dotson age 94, passed away Thurs. July 2, 2009 at Heritage Hall Health Care, Clintwood, VA. She is the daughter of the late Gaetiano and Rosalia Gullotti Pizzuto, Her parents came to Clintwood in 1907 from Sicily, Italy. Her father worked as a stone mason, Mr. Pizzuto was integral to the construction of the town of Clintwood and surrounding area. Mrs. Dotson graduated from Radford University and retired from the Dickenson County School System. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Frank Paul Pizzuto, and three sisters, Margaret Pizzuto, Stella Pizzuto and Louise Pizzuto. She is survived by her husband Orbin Dotson, Clintwood; one sister Josephine Puckett and husband Lewis of Lebanon, VA; two nephews, James P. Pizzuto of Pennsylvania and Larry M. Pizzuto of Europe; one niece Carrolla Sue Pizzuto Temple of Delaware; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Carmella Pizzuto Dotson will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday July 5, 2009 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tom Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street Clintwood, VA. The family will receive friends after Noon till service time Sunday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
