Burley E. Moore, age 89, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his home. Mr. Moore was a life long resident of Dickenson County. He had been a member of the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church for over sixty years. Mr. Moore worked for Clinchfield Coal Company, was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Moore; parents, Jim and Vicey Ball Moore; son, Randall Moore and infant son Larry Scott Moore; grandsons, Kerry Moore and Josh Moore; son-in-law, Raymond Webb; four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Moore is survived by three sons; Jessee Moore and wife Judy of Pound, Virginia, Mitchell Moore and wife Diane of Apex, North Carolina, Connie Moore and wife Della of Clintwood; two daughters, Eviajean Webb, Shirlene Mullins and husband Lester, all of Clintwood; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 18th, 11:00 am at the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church with Lynn Vanover and Roger Freeman officiating. Entombment will follow in the Temple Hill Chapel of Love, Castlewood, Virginia. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the church, Saturday, November 17th after 5:00 pm, where a service will begin at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church.
