Brenda Carol Mullins age 61, passed away Thurs. April 15, 2010, Clinchco, Virginia. She was born March 16, 1949 the daughter of the late Casey and Edith Dooley. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger L. Mullins and one sister Martha Sue Rose. A life long resident of Clinchco, she was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. She served her community for many years with the McClure River Rescue Squad and Fire Department. She attended the Clinchco Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her Daughter Rita Owens and husband Roy L. (Sunny) II , of Clinchco, one step-son Brian Keith Davis and wife Laura of Michigan, two brothers Casey Dooley, Haysi, VA and Arthur Dooley of Blountville, TN. Four sisters: Velvet Taylor, Clinchco, Janice Dingus, Haysi, VA., Mary Yates and Joyce Baldwin of Clintwood, VA. One granddaughter Shandi LySable Owens and Nanny to many others. Funeral services for Brenda Carol Mullins will be conducted at 2 PM Sun. April 18, 2010 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose-Hill Cemetery, Rose Ridge Community. Pallbearers will be Keith Davis, Joseph Dooley, Christopher Scott, Dallas Crihfield, Roy L. Sunny Owens II, Mackie Rose, Jesse Crihfield, Doug Dingus and Randy King. Honorary Pallbearers are Roy L. Owens, Sr., Dean Rasnick, James Dooley, Teddy Crihfield and Billy Dingus. The family will receive friends after 6 PM Sat. evening Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a song service at 7 PM.
