Bobby Gene Stanley, age 75, passed away July 28, 2011 at Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood, Virginia. Mr. Stanley was a life long resident of Dickenson County and a retired UMWA coal miner. He loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Pheobe Hill Stanley, a daughter, Debbie Kennedy, son Jessee James Stanley, two brothers and four sisters. Survivors are his wife, Wanda Stanley, son, Robert Stanley and wife Veronica and daughter, Sharon Kay Stanley, all of Clintwood, Virginia. Other survivors include; one brother, Bert Stanley of Haysi, Virginia, two sisters, Sonya Sheeley of Norfolk, Virginia and Tina Borum of Portsmouth, Virginia, four grandchildren, Jason Stanley, Leah Stanley, Jeremy Stanley, Jody Bill Hammon and one great granddaughter, Airel Grace Stanley. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 30th, 7:00 pm, at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. A graveside service will be conducted July 31st, 1:00 pm at the Hill Ridge Cemetery, family and friends will met at the funeral home at 12:30 pm and proceed to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends beginning after 6:00 pm Saturday.
