Bobby L. Dotson, Sr., age 69, died at the Veterans Administration Center, Johnson City on Wednesday, June 28, 2006. He was the son of the late Noah M. and Ada Elkins Dotson, a disabled coal miner, and a veteran, US Army. His daughter Sherry Pennington, grandson Jmmy Pennington, and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Bobby L. Dotson, Jr. (B-Bob), Clintwood; his former wife, Edith Dotson, Clintwood; three brothers, Palmer Dotson, Abingdon, Denver Dotson and Curtis Dotson, both of Ligonier, IN; three sisters, Virginia Hicks, Ligonier, IN, Bernice Willoughby, Cambridge, OH, and Pauline Mullins, Clintwood; grandchildren, John Pennington, Brett Dotson, Chelsea Dotson Mullins, (step-son) David Willsey and his wife Brenda their children Bradley and Barbara, (step-daughter) Crystal Vanover and her friend, Glenn Newitt. Funeral services for Bobby L. Dotson, Sr. will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday from the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with ministers Greg Cyphers and Keith Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennedy Cemetery on Caney Ridge. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. VWF Post 9600 Pound, VA will conduct military graveside services.
