Bobby Joe Deel, age 68, passed away July 6, 2009 at the Dickenson Community Hospital. He was a retired coal miner from the Consol Coal Company. Mr. Deel was preceded in death by his father, Burns Deel. Mr. Deel is survived by his wife, Janice Hawley Deel and mother, Nevalee Adkins Deel. Other survivors include two sons and two daughters; John Deel and wife Kimberly of Bluff City, Tennessee, Larry Deel and wife Patricia of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mary Delacruze and husband Chris of Clintwood, Virginia and Bonnie Way and husband Mark of Mount Carmel, Tennessee. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Jason and Adam Arrington, Jaimie, Megan and Lindsey Deel and Michael and Brian Pennington. Other survivors include two sisters; Norma Sue Bryan of Greenville, Georgia and Leanna Asbury and husband William of Clintwood, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted at the Little Sarah Church on Big Ridge Road Thursday, July 9th at 1:00 PM, officiating will be Elder David O'Quinn. Burial will follow at the Deel Family Cemetery on the Lake Road. Family will receive friends at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, July 8th at 6:00 PM with a service to follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
