Obituary

Robert (Bob) Paul Cussins, 83, of Clintwood, Virginia, passed away Friday, November 5 th after a long battle with Heart Disease.  Bob was born November 30, 1937 to Paul James and Mary Louise Cussins in Barnett Township, Pennsylvania.

He moved to Dickenson County in the 1940's.  He joined the Army in 1956 and he was a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  After the Army, he began working with Appalachian Power Company and quickly moved from Groundman, to Lineman, to Area Supervisor.   He was with them for 34 years.

After Retirement, he poured his heart and soul into working on his farm with his horses, mules, tractors, excavators and his sawmill.  He thoroughly enjoyed the country life.  Anyone who knew him would say he was more stubborn than the mules he raised.  He loved spending time with family, friends and neighbors.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and Papaw.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and brothers Dick and Ronnie Cussins.  He is survived by his wife, Betty Cussins, sister Ruth Compton, Son Jody Cussins and wife Melena, Daughter Jeannie Taylor and husband David, 2 Grandsons, Zach and Will Keels as well as extended family and friends.  He will be missed more than words can express.

A special thank you to all the friends and neighbors who have helped him over the years. A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Contributions can be made in his memory to the local chapter of Future Farmers of America.  Checks can be made to the FFA and mailed to Dickenson County Extension Office, PO Box 1160, Clintwood, VA 24228.
