Bill R. Rose, 81, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his residence.  He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, a Veteran of the US Navy and a Korean Veteran.  A member of Little Sarah Old Regular Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of VFW Post 8979.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence "Bose" and Eunice Fletcher Rose; stepmother, Hazel Rose; and brother, Alfred Carl Rose.

He is survived by his wife, Fern O'Quinn Rose of Clintwood, VA; daughter; Shamberlie Rose Ratliff of Clintwood, VA; grandson, Heath Ratliff of Clintwood, VA; brothers, Jack Fletcher and wife Betty of Richmond, VA, Jack Rose of Rogersville, TN; Harold Rose and wife Ann of Clintwood, VA; Glennis Rose and wife Delana of Clintwood, VA; sister, Pat Baker and husband Linza of Clintwood, VA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Bill Rose will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, November 18, 2016 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Roger Coleman, Mark Justice, and Jerry Overstreet officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fleming Cemetery Rose Ridge.  Pallbearers will be Heath Ratliff, Cameron Phipps, Mathew Dingus, Bill Owens and Jason Dingus.  Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Rimon Ibrahim, and members of Little Sarah Church. Family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 PM Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a service to begin at 7:00.
