Bertha Cardella Stanley, age 80, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and had lived on Caney Ridge for many years. She was a member of Rachels Chapel Church.

Ms. Stanley was preceded in death by her parents, Egbert and Georgia Stanley; daughter, Paulette Howington; granddaughter, Linda Hill; brothers, Paul, Ted and Billy Stanley; sisters, Pauline Stanley, Sara Belle Rose and Nina Stanley; three infants.

Survivors include her sons Richard Kennedy of Coeburn, Jimmy Kennedy and wife Kathy of Big Stone Gap and a special grandson Christopher Kennedy of Coeburn; daughter Sandra (Margie) Mullins and husband Jeff of Coeburn; brothers, Hobart Stanley of Wise, Herbert Stanley, McKinley Stanley and wife Mary Jane all of Coeburn, Joe Stanley and wife Carol of Norton; her sister Martha June Hamilton of Coeburn; two special nieces, Patsy Meade and Tammy Rasnick; granddaughter Carrie Beth Howington and great grandson Michael Hill.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, April 21st at 2:00 PM in the Paul Stanley Family Cemetery. Donald Smith, Lester Mullins and Willie Stanley will be officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
