Barbara Ellen Ring Charles, 80, of Clinchco, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018, at Heritage Hall in Clintwood.

She was born September 14, 1937 to Welford and Lannie Ring. She was a 1956 graduate of Ervinton High School and a devout Christian.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, William Mack Charles; sister, Norma Korell; brother-in-law, Dewey Korell; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Ring.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, David and Phyllis Charles of Ferndale, MI, Joe and Bethany Charles of Riverview, FL and Mike and Pam Charles of Clintwood; grandchildren, Caleb, Anna, Sarah, Beth, J.R., Bryan, Logan, Keaton and Zachary; three great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Ring of Clinchco; brother-in-law, Jerry Lee Charles of Clinchco; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday, January 18 at Clintwood Funeral Home where a song service will be held at 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Rugsby Church Cemetery on Friday, January 19. Those wishing to attend should meet at Clintwood Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Pastor Randy Moore of Clinchco Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Sons, grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
