Avery Mullins age 85, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia.  Mr. Mullins was born in Dickenson County and was a veteran of the US Army.  He was a retired truck driver from BP Oil Company and enjoyed fishing, baseball (especially the Braves) and spending time with his grandsons. Mr. Mullins was preceded in death by his parents, Odna and Lucinda Mullins.

Survivors include his son Greg Mullins of Hendersonville, NC; daughter, Krista Mullins and husband Kelly of Greer, SC; grandsons, Reagan Mullins and Sutton Mullins; sisters, Patty Jean Mullins, Sue Sputa and Lois Prazuck all of Warren, Michigan.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 19 ^th from 1 PM to 2 PM in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow visitation in the Stanley-Triplett Cemetery, Clintwood.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
