Arnold French age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, with his loving family by his side. Arnold was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, where he worked as a coal miner and carpenter.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Snoda French Tackett; two sons, Mitchell Shayne and Andy Steven French; one sister, Dollie Mae French and brother, Hershal French.

Survivors include his companion, Nancy French of McClure; two sons, Michael French and wife Sarah and Danny French and wife Dorsa all of Clinchco; daughter, Nancy Russell and husband, P.C. of Five Points, Alabama; his brother James French and wife Shirley of McClure and sister Carrie Ganzman and husband Allen of Knoxville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren; special friend, Betty who could make him laugh.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Donald and Karen Cook of Clinchco.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 6 ^th , 7 pm at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Denver Kelly officiating. Visitation will begin 6 pm. Family request face coverings be worn during services. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 pm on Monday, February 7 ^th , to proceed to French Cemetery, Carter Stanley Highway, for a graveside service at 1 pm. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
