Anna Lee Sutherland, age 70, died at Mountain View Regional Medical Center, Norton, on Friday, April 28, 2006 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Dickenson County the daughter of the late McKinley and Martha Dutton Smith, she was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Eulis Lee Sutherland, Clintwood; one son, David Lee Sutherland, Clintwood, three daughters, Cheryl Hill, Coeburn, Tonya Moretz, Taylorsville, NC, and Misty Michelle Rose of Clintwood; three brothers, Rufus J "Chester" Smith, James E. Smith, and Lawrence Smith, all of Clintwood; six grandchildren, Cody Edwards, Kimberly Sutherland, Shyanne Sutherland, McKala McCowan, Terry Lee Sutherland, and Dillon Sutherland. Funeral services for Anna Lee Sutherland will be conducted at 11:00 AM Sunday, from the graveside at the Dutton-Hayes Cemetery, Rt. #3 Clintwood, with the Rev. Lester Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM on Saturday with a song service to follow at 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
