Alvah Earl Dotson born September 5, 1939 passed away at his home on August 24, 2024, after a long illness. He was 84. Mr. Dotson was a retired steelworker of 30 years. His hobby was working on cars or any type of small engine.

Mr. Dotson was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Flarnie Smith Dotson; daughter, Vickie Lynn Dotson; seven brothers, Stacy, Everett, Walter, Delmer, Kermit, Glen and Shine; four sisters, Lorene Dotson, Thelma Pulcini, Margie Knabb and Mary Alice Rasnake.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lucille Dotson; son, Jeffrey Dotson; daughter, Amanda and husband Kenny Stanford, all of Cleveland, Virginia; sister, Berta Barone of Raitan, New Jersey; brother, Richard Dotson and wife Jo Ellen of Lorain, Ohio; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Thursday, August 29th, 11 am at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. At 12 noon family and friends will leave funeral home proceeding to G.B. Smith Cemetery, Hazel Mountain Road, Dante, Virginia for a graveside service with Tony Dotson officiating.  Pallbearers will be Tony Dotson, Michael Dotson, Frankie Smith, Anthony Greene, Palmer Greene and Matt Moran.
