Martha Alice Standifur, age 85, passed away September 12th, 2009 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. She was born the daughter of George N. and Martha Gilbert Mullins. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Heather Michelle Standifur. She is survived by her husband, Hiram Standifur, Sr. Clintwood; two sons; Hiram Standifur, Jr. and wife Janie and Michael Standifur and wife Vicki, all of Clintwood, Virginia. Also surviving are five daughters; Margaret Standifur Ratliff of Belcher, Kentucky, Leisa Keesee and husband, Terry of Clintwood, Virginia, Brenda Rogers and husband Bill of Kansas City, Missouri, Shirley Elkins and husband John of Clintwood, Virginia, and Rose Mary Miller and husband Ed of Warsaw, Missouri. Other survivors are 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Standifur will be conducted Wednesday, September 16th, at 11:00 AM at the Little Hope Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders of the church officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, Virginia. Visitation at the church will begin after 6:00 PM on Monday and Tuesday nights with services to begin at 7:00 PM. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
