Al Ray Ramey age 73, passed away Sunday December 11, 2011 at his home. He was born February 4, 1938 the son of the late Thanie and Bethana Stanley Ramey. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nomi Jean Ramey, two brothers Curtis and Hollis Ramey, one sister-in-law Thedia Ramey, one brother-in-law Truman Gould. Survivors include one brother Doug Ramey and wife Jeanette, Knoxville, TN, two sisters Clara Gould, Baltimore, MD and Barbara Sue Mullins and husband George of Clintwood, a sister-in-law Gladys Ramey, Belcher,KY. Along with several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Monday December 19th at the Flemingtown Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Lester Mullins and Harold Mullins officiating.
