Nora Phipps Kelley age 94, passed away Thursday July 15, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Ky. She was born the daughter of the late Freeling and Hannah Phipps. She was a life long resident of Clintwood and a member of the Little Hope Old Regular Baptist Church since 1939. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Rolley Kelley, two children Carl Kelley and Bessie Kelly, two brothers, one sister and three grandchildren. Mrs. Kelley was known to all as a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by Six sons; Edward L. Kelley, Wise, VA. Kenneth Kelley and wife Betty, Richlands, VA. Cecil Kelley, Abingdon, VA. Allen Kelley and wife Lucy, Lebanon, VA. Blaine Kelley and wife Shirley, and James Kelley and wife Phyllis all of Clintwood, VA. Four daughters; Catherine Cox husband Danny, Millboro, VA. Pansey Phipps and husband Kyle and Mary Edith Counts all of Clintwood, VA. and Vonda Walsh and husband Cliff of Lexington, VA. 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Nora P. Kelly will be conducted at 1:00 Sat. July 17, 2010 at the Little Hope Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Charles Nitchie, Buford Brooks and Robert Kelly. Burial will follow at the Rolley Kelley Family Cemetery Brush Creek Road, Clintwood. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends after 6 PM Fri. evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7 PM.
