James Bruce Cantrell, age, 79 of Pound, Virginia passed away July 6, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his father, John Dee Cantrell and mother, Hannah Cantrell; one brother Clayton Thurston Cantrell; two sisters, Bernice Willis and Mildred Rose.
Survivors are one brother, J.D. Cantrell, Jr.; one sister, Italy Vanover; one son, James Bruce Milton Cantrell and wife Cissy of the home; two daughters, Kimberly and Sabrina Cantrell, of Pound, Virginia. Others survivors include three grandsons, Jerry Dean and James Cody Crawford of Pound, and James Zackary Cantrell of Lee County, Virginia; two step grandsons, Shane and Trevor Blevins of Whitetop, Virginia; five granddaughters, Jessica Hopkins and Elizabeth Cantrell of Lee County, Virginia, Destiny Hope Cantrell, Jasmine Brianna Cantrell and Trinidee Cantrell all of Wise County, Virginia; one great grandson, Dalton Lane Hopkins of Lee County, Virginia; one great granddaughter, Susan Scott of Lee County, Virginia; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Emma Harrison.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 8th, 2010, at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Willie Cantrell, Trinkle Mullins and Carl Mullins officiating. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, July 9th , 11:00 am at the Cantrell Family Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
