Susan E. Hawkins, age 50, passed Thursday, June 10, 2010 in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan. She was born June 11, 1959 in Dante, Virginia the daughter of Tooney and Elizabeth Davis Hawkins. Susan, who loved animals, was a pet groomer for many years. She was a good mother, grandmother and daughter who loved her family very much. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, Tooney and one brother, Brian, whom she was very close to.

Survivors include: one daughter, Leahanne Rowe of Indiana and one son, Robert M. Hawkins of Ypsilanti. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Virginia Elaine, Nathan Michael, Elizabeth and Jake, one brother, Robert Hawkins and wife Yasmine of Ypsilanti, one nephew Kiko and one great nephew Antonio.

Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, June 17th, 7:00 PM at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 18th, 11:00 AM at Phipps Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 6:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
