Jackie Dean Murphy Jr., age 47 passed away Sunday Feb. 21, 2010 as result of injuries due to automobile accident. He was born August 22, 1962 the son of Jack Dean Murphy and Pat Fletcher Murphy. He attended Clintwood High School and worked in the coal industry. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his father Jack Dean Murphy.
Survivors include his wife Sue Murphy of Clintwood, his mother Pat Murphy of Clintwood, daughter Heather Murphy and fiancé Brad Ramey, Clintwood, a son Ryan Murphy and Constance Rose of Coeburn, VA. Two brothers Jeff Murphy and wife Wendi, Wirtz, Virginia and Mike Batkins and wife Leeann, Smithville, VA. Two sisters Patricia Compton and husband Allen of Clintwood and Barbara Carlton of Clintwood, Michael Batkins, a nephew and nieces Crystal Barnette, Amber Carlton and Allison Batkins. Two special little friends Dalton and Brianna Ramey. Along with several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jackie D. Murphy will be conducted at 7 PM Wed. Feb. 24, 2010 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Yates and Lynn Vanover officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thurs. Feb. 25, 2010 at the Murphy Family Cemetery located on Caney Ridge. Pallbearers will be Ryan Murphy, Brad Ramey, Todd Barnette, Buddy Murphy, Roger Murphy, Kester Keith, Leo Sawyers and Kenny Strouth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Murphy, Allen Compton, Mike Yates, David Phipps, Randy Jenkins, Jim White, Mike Carlton, Ray Counts, Jimmy Robinson, Randy Fletcher, Carroll Ray Baker, Rick Meade and Edmund Pee Wee Mooney. The Family will receive friends after 6 PM Wed. evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Anyone wishing to go in procession to cemetery needs to meet at funeral home Thurs. by 10:45 AM.
