Steven Michael Moore “Steve” age 55 departed this life on Feb. 7, 2010 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA. He was born Sept. 7, 1954 the son of Paul E. and Louise F. Moore of Clintwood. Preceding him in death is his grandparents Estes and Oshie Fleming and Grandfather Emory Moore, along with a special friend Avery Yates. He was a 1972 Graduate of Clintwood High School and attended the Mountain Empire Community College. He was the owner and operator of Cumberland Transport and Mill Creek trucking companies.
He is survived by his Parents Paul E. and Louise F. Moore of Clintwood, his daughter Stevie Caroline Moore of Clintwood, his brothers John Moore of Clintwood, and Kevin Moore of Abingdon, VA., grandmother Helen Moore, his companion Nellie Bailey and her grandchildren Savannah and Kaitlin Cline of Bull Creek, WV., uncles Danny Moore and wife Shelby of Clintwood, David Moore and wife Lyn of Church Hill, TN., aunt Nell Wright and husband Rev. Luke Wright of Clintwood, one niece Meagan Monahan and nephew Braylon Moore along with several cousins, friends and family members.
A Service for his many friends and loved ones in the Bull Creek community will be held Tues. Feb. 9, 2010 at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church in Bull Creek, WV. The service will begin at 7:00 PM with Larry Rife and Tommy Cann officiating.
The family will receive friends after 5 PM Wed. Feb. 10, 2010 at the Flemingtown Free Will Baptist Church on the Lake Road, Clintwood. A service will be held at 7 PM. The Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 Thu. Feb. 11, 2010, with Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss and Ken Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the Estes Fleming Family Cemetery, Flemingtown, VA. Pallbearers will be G.D. Russell, Jeff Newberry, John Vanover, Lawrence Smith, Walter Hawkins, Dennis Turner, Richard Wright , Kevin Moor, John Moore, Thurman Mullins and Seth Baker.
