Hiram Standifur Sr. age 88 went to be with the Lord Saturday Jan. 30, 2010 at the Dickenson Community Hospital. He was born in Kentucky the son of the late Shade W. and Liddie Standifur. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving his country in the Pacific. He retired from the Clinchfield Coal Company and was a member of the Little Hope Old Regular Baptist Church serving as Elder in the church since 1975. He is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 69 years Alice Mullins Standifur, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his children; Hiram Standifur, Jr. and wife Janie, Michael Standifur and wife Vicki all of Clintwood, Margaret Ratliff, Elkhorn City, KY., Brenda Rogers and husband Bill of Kansas City, MO. , Shirley Stevens of Clintwood, Rosemary Miller and husband Ed of Warsaw, MO., Leisa Keesee and husband Terry of Clintwood. Three sisters; Louise Kelley, Clintwood, Jane Standifur and Juanita Bartley both of Bean Station, TN. 21 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren, along with 9 Great-Great Grandchildren,.
Funeral services for Hiram Standifur, Sr. will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thurs. Feb. 4, 2010 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Jimmy Dale Sanders, Elmer Woods, Buford Brooks and Earl Dean Yates officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. The family will receive friends after 6PM Tues. and Wed. with services at 7PM both evenings at the Clintwood Funeral Home.
